In 1784 Stanislaw August Poniatowski was the King of Poland and the King of Prussia was Frydery k II The Greatest. Pius VI was a pope at that time and New York was a capital of United States of America. In Warsaw there had started reconstruction of Royal Baths and in Raciborz there had started create inn on Bronki. One of the oldest monumental objects in Poland and in the Europe was put into operation in June one year ago.
Object is written to register of monuments. From 2010 to 2015 a new owner- The Company ZRB Kampka from Racibórz, renewed it. In the XVIII-aged building there are restaurant and accomodations and in the second prewar one, there are also restaurant room for 70 people and accomodations.
'Our main goal was to renew this unique place in Raciborz and restore its old duty, I mean an Inn with restaurant and accomodations. We took it over in 2009 in really bad condition. We did our best to keep all historic elements and ensure the high standard of interiors. We encourage everybody to judge effects of works. We renewed it with Silesian Governments, which are responsible for monuments' protection. Main designer was Mrs Lucyna Kikowska- The Master and the Engineer of Architecture' Mr Grzegorz Kampka said.
The building at the Londzina 45 Street (in first years of XX age it was called The Great Suburb 45, later it was also called The Wide Street 45) Raciborz' citizens call The Biskupi Inn. It is hard to say who made up this name. Well-known researcher from Raciborz- Mr Pawel Newerla thinks that the adjective 'Biskupi' has new meaning after the II World War. 'Everybody used the name 'Biskupi', so there was no sens to search for a new name. We accepted the first historic one' Mr Kampka added. The Inn was built in time from 1784 to 1787. In that time, the area where inn was placed, was named Bronki (Citizens called like that suburbs in the west of the Big Gate, called also "Mikolajska") bordered with Stara Wieś. Later Bronki was moved inside into borders of the city. Not far away from here there was a bridge on the Psina.
Old red brics were used to create that building. It is possible that people produced vodka here. There were coach house outside, basement for petroleum and shed for wood and coal. Inn was built on a rectangular plan. The building was rebuilt twice: first at the turn of XVII and XIX and second one in the middle of XIX age. For a spell, inn was used as a manor house. Until today we can admire wooden porch, polish 'mansard' roof, original tunnel vaults on the ground floor. The first owners were members of Tlach family and later members of Jewish Freud family. In the XX age the inn's owner was famous dentist- Mr Hermann Reichhelm.
